The Law Foundation of BC (the “Foundation”) is pleased to announce that Hana Bank Canada has joined its list of Preferred Financial Institutions — banks and credit unions that support access to justice by offering competitive interest rates on lawyers’ pooled trust accounts.
The interest generated from these accounts is the Foundation’s primary source of funding, enabling grants that support a wide range of justice-related initiatives across British Columbia. These include legal aid services, public legal education, advocacy, and law reform efforts.
Hana Bank Canada and the Law Foundation of BC share a strong commitment to supporting newcomers and fostering diversity within British Columbian society. Hana Bank Canada focuses on providing culturally informed financial services tailored to the Korean-Canadian community. This includes support for newcomers, international students, and small businesses.
The Law Foundation encourages all legal professionals to direct their pooled trust accounts to Preferred Financial Institutions to support access to justice initiatives throughout BC.
